Workshop Policies

Please read the following IMPORTANT information: You will be asked to agree to our policy terms before you register for a workshop.

Upon arrival and before entering our workshop, you will be required to review and sign our workshop waiver. 

Only Registered workshop guests will be permitted into the workshop area. Because of workshop size, available seating and fire code, we are limited to the number of people allowed in the workshop area.

Registration: Project selection and customization information for your project is required at the time of booking.  Please be sure to double check your spelling and information to ensure your project stencil and materials will be ready for you at the start of class.

Arriving on Time:  We ask that you please arrive on time for your scheduled workshop so that we can start on time. Anyone arriving any later than 15 minutes after the start time will not be allowed to enter the workshop. Unfortunately, reservation fees are non-refundable. Please contact us if you are running late.

Because of time constraints and the way our workshops are instructed, we can only allow each person to make ONE project per workshop. If there are multiple designs you would like, may we suggest finding a friend to purchase a spot and make it for you.

Food and Alchohol:  YOU MUST be at least 21 years old to bring/consume alcohol. Please feel free to bring beer, wine, and food with you to the workshop. We also sell a variety of non-alcoholic beverages on the premises. We ask that you consume alcohol responsibly, and designate a driver.  

DIY and Tools:  You may be using electric sanders, drills, finishing nail guns, sand paper, latex paints, water based stains and decorative all natural waxes

Paints and Stains You will be able to customize the colors the day of the workshop from over 50 colors and 6 stain options. 

Workshop Cancellation Policy: Due to the custom nature of our workshops and limited space and event times, registration fees are non-refundable. You may pick up your project as a take home kit (within 30 days) to make it at home if you're unable to attend. Please call the studio to make arrangements of reschedule or pickup 941.216.3384. Another option is, If you're unable to attend a workshop, we suggest finding someone to come in your place to create your project, so you do not lose your registration fee. 

Due to staffing, we reserve the right to cancel workshops if attendance is below 4 attendees, you will be given a refund in the event that this happens.

Project Change Request: Please note, the design you choose at registration will be the design you receive the night of the workshop. Please check your spelling.   Although we do love to be accommodating to our guests, because of the custom nature of our workshops we charge a $10 change fee and $20 if the original design you chose is personalized with your information. We do require at least 48 hours notice of a change and the change should be in writing; emailed to us at makersmarketdiy@gmail.com

Custom Design Request:  We love making new designs!  We would be happy to design a custom stencil for your project. There will be a $25 charge for any custom design that we usually do not carry. We request at least 7 days notice for custom designs.

Please note:
  • This is a WOOD workshop so your sign WILL HAVE random cracks, chips, knots and other NATURAL blemishes that give it it's characteristics! Your sign may have slight bleeding or wood peeling.
